The Community Singers continue to play a vital role in Bedford.  In February the group performed for a full house at the Bedford Church of the Brethren.  The theme was love- love of family and friends, love of country, romantic love and love of God.

The group was created in 2012 and started with 10 members; it currently has 35 singers from Bedford, Everett, Schellsburg and the surrounding communities.  They perform a variety of songs from Broadway, spiritual, to patriotic tunes.

The ensemble received a $900 grant from the Earl and Jeanne Berkey Fund through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.  The Community Singers were able to purchase new sheet music and chorus folders with it.

The ensemble was started on the belief that music plays a vital role in building a vibrant community.  For more information or to join the chorus, contact Gay Piller at commsingers@gmail.com.
