Did you know that your participation in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) can turn your tax dollars into a community resource for high school students? Learn how to put your tax dollars to good use at noon on April 20 in Room 30 of the Somerset County Campus of Allegany College of Maryland.

This workshop, presented in partnership with the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, will detail the PA Department of Community and Economic Development’s EITC program. Eligible companies can apply beginning May 15. If approved, they will receive a 90% tax credit for a two-year commitment or a 75% tax credit for a one-year commitment. For example, a company making a donation of $10,000 for each of two years would receive a $9,000 tax credit each year. Through this program businesses can maximize their giving potential, assist the Somerset County Campus Foundation in providing education opportunities to high school students who take Early College classes.

Find out if your business is eligible to apply for EITC and, if so, consider making a donation to help divert your state tax dollars to local education. To attend, contact Sue Funa, Coordinator of Community, Foundation, and Workforce Development for the Somerset County Campus, at (814) 445-9848, extension 6136 by April 17th.
