Save During Will Week 2025
Will Week is back! We are delighted to once again work with attorneys from around the region to help local individuals and families plan for their future and save on estate planning services. This year, Will Week will be held from April 21 – 25, 2025.
How does it work?
Simply reach out to any of the Will Week 2025 participating attorneys listed below during the week of April 21 to schedule an appointment for estate planning services to receive a 15 percent discount for new clients. Just mention “Community Foundation Will Week” when you make your appointment. Please note: your appointment does not have to happen during Will Week, but you do need to call to schedule it that week to receive the discount. Discount is limited to new clients only.
Why now?
According to a 2024 survey conducted by Caring.com, only 32 percent of Americans have a will. This is a 6 percent decrease from 2023, indicating the first decline in estate planning rates since 2020. If you pass away without a will—a situation referred to as intestate—the state and court system will oversee the distribution of your assets. You’ve worked hard for years to build the life you have. Don’t you want to be the person who decides what ultimately becomes of the things you’ve earned along the way? Through Will Week, you can save on these important services and work with trusted attorneys, available across our region.
What’s next?
At the Community Foundation, we see firsthand every day the importance of planning for the future, and now is a critical time to prepare. According to a Transfer of Wealth Study prepared by the Center for Rural Pennsylvania, approximately $5.3 billion will be transferred from one generation to the next within our four-county region alone over the next ten years. If just 5% of this money could stay in our region to support charitable causes through an endowed fund at the Community Foundation, there would be an annual distribution of nearly $12 million every year, forever.
This year, we are joining forces with 40 other community foundations across Pennsylvania to promote the PA Giving Pledge, which aims to inspire Pennsylvanians to leave at least 5% of their estates to help future generations. Find out how you can participate at the resources below or contact Director of Donor Services Katrina Perkoksy at 814-225-1266.
