George F. Wheeling Athletic and Educational Trust Fund

To provide scholarships to deserving students with an above average academic record who have excelled in their area of interest.

George Lichty Memorial Award Fund

Awards a $500 scholarship annually to a Somerset Area High School graduating senior. Applicant must be entering any form of post-secondary education and have a family income of no more than $60,000 per year.

Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania Endowment Fund

To support the operations of Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania in regions that were served by the Talus Rock Girl Scout Council before the creation of Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania and the girls and adults served by the council.

Glen George Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior at United School District who plans to pursue a career in the field of science, technology, or science education.

Gloria (Madorma) Quigley Memorial Math Scholarship Fund

To provide an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Ligonier Valley High School who intends to pursue a college degree in a major related to science, technology, engineering or math or math education. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5, and have completed and excelled in upper level math classes, such as Calculus and Statistics.

Goldblatt Family Fund

To provide Community Foundation for the Alleghenies a resource to address economic and business development strategies to include recreation housing and other social-fabric elements that will help bring the community out of its distressed status.

Goodwill Industries of The Conemaugh Valley, Inc. Fund

To further Goodwill Industries’ mission to assist persons with barriers to employment to become more self-sufficient through work.

Gordon and Andrew Wilcox Scout Campership Fund

To provide financial support to assist scouts within the Keystone District of the Laurel Highlands Council BSA to attend camp or leadership training.

Grant and Vindy Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the Fund shall be to provide three scholarships annually. The Hugh Grant Jeanjaquet Medical Scholarship will be awarded to a Bishop McCort senior who will be pursuing post-secondary education in a healthcare field. The Vindemiatrix A. Kohan Sports Leadership Scholarship will be awarded to a Bishop McCort senior participating in at least one varsity sport (including cheerleading) who demonstrates a history of leadership and good sportsmanship. The Grant and Vindy Academic Award will be awarded to a senior attending a school in Cambria County who has a history of academic excellence and community service. Great Allegheny Passage Land Acquisition and Emergency Trail Maintenance Fund

To provide support for land acquisition or to address emergency maintenance of the Great Allegheny Passage Trail in Somerset County in the event of a critical situation that will close, or threaten to close, the trail.

Great Allegheny Passage Maintenance Reserve Fund

To establish a maintenance reserve fund with two goals: first, to ensure the long-term quality and safety of the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Towpath as described in the Organization’s Maintenance Reserve Fund Policy, to generate investment income to be reinvested in the Fund to provide for growth of the Fund.

Greater Johnstown/ACRP Innovative Education Enrichment Program Fund

To supplement the Greater Johnstown School District’s regular education, reading program. The program targets young children from the ages of birth through third grade. The project joins many agencies, which focus on early literacy, in an effort to (1) develop a common approach to ensuring all students will have readiness skills prior to entering kindergarten, and (2) supplement the efforts of the basic education system for students in grades kindergarten through grade three.

Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center Fund

To provide an endowment, which will benefit students and recent graduates of Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center by providing scholarships for higher education and start-up business grants.

Greater Johnstown Community YMCA Fund

An agency fund with distributions to be made for the benefit of Greater Johnstown Community YMCA.

Greater Johnstown Economic Development Fund

To provide for the economic development of Greater Johnstown.

Greater Johnstown Tennis Association Fund

To provide support for all efforts and activities of the Greater Johnstown Tennis Association.

Greater Prospect, Inc. Fund

To support the development of the Greater Johnstown Co-Op and any related activities.

Greg Glosser Donor Advised Fund

To provide support to charitable causes as advised by donors.

Griffith and O’Brien Fund

To support unrestricted grantmaking as determined by the Foundation’s Distribution Committee, through the Fund for the Future.

Gristmill Fund

To support the maintenance and improvement of the 1805 Gristmill Theater.

H.R. and Helen Konhaus Scholarship Fund

To provide a scholarship for a graduating senior of Meyersdale Area High School who has a demonstrated financial need and a career interest in any health related field.

HAHC Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for individuals in the regions we serve who are seeking to further their education and training in the field of primary medical care.

Harry Henderson Cornell Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for senior students at Blairsville High School attending any type of post-secondary education, including trade/technical schools and traditional colleges and universities. Two scholarships will be awarded each year at $15,000 each to students meeting certain geographic requirements and demonstrating a motivation to succeed and achieve their personal goals.

Hastings Public Library Fund

The purpose of the Fund shall be to support all endeavors of the Hastings Public Library.

Hauger-Zeigler Memorial Fund

To support numerous tax-exempt nonprofits, community and/or religious organizations in the Somerset and Cambria County areas, as well as national relief organizations.

Hazel Jones Slater Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarships, financial aid, and assistance for qualified and needy nursing students attending Mount Aloysius College, Cresson, Pennsylvania. In the event that Mount Aloysius College School of Nursing is discontinued, then the gifts from this Fund shall go to qualified needy nursing students attending other nursing schools in the State of Pennsylvania as selected by the Foundation.

HC “Joe” Harned Scholarship Fund

To provide continuing scholarships through the Turkeyfoot Valley Historical Society, the United Community Church of God in Ursina, and Kingwood Church of God in Markleton for post-secondary education at accredited institutions.

Heart of a Champion Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support to a graduating senior from the North Star School district who has participated in the school’s varsity wrestling program. The student does not have to be attending any further schooling after high school in order to qualify.

Heather Alt Reininger Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide a $1,000.00 scholarship to a senior student at Forest Hills High School, who plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a major in elementary education.

Helen L. Maruhnich Memorial Fund

To purchase new works of fiction for the Cambria County Library.

Helene and Robert Krantzler Scholarship Fund

To provide a scholarship for a scholastically worthy graduating senior of Forest Hills High School who desires to enter any accredited college or university.

Helping Hands of Cambria County Fund

To assist the building efforts of Habitat for Humanity of Cambria County (now Helping Hands of Cambria County), a non-profit Christian ministry that assists low income families. Originally established by Attorney D. C. Nokes.

Herald and Jane (Rummel) Griffith Memorial Maple Spring College Scholarship Fund

To provide a $1000.00 scholarship for a qualified candidate who must be either a member of the active congregation at Maple Spring Church, or the children, grandchildren, and other family members of the congregation, as screened and qualified by the church finance committee.

Herb McDowell Music Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for a deserving and qualified student from Somerset Area High School who participated in music and is continuing to in college (the student does not have to major in music or the arts).

Highlands Health Fund

To support all efforts and activities of Highlands Health, a provider of free medical and pharmaceutical care to the low-income, uninsured, and under-insured population of the Laurel Highlands region of Western PA using volunteer professional staff.

Hilda Ellis Mayer Fund

To provide for maintenance and operation of regional conservancies and walking trails.

Hilltop Boys Club Fund

To provide support for costs associated with organizing a Junior High baseball team(s) based in (but not limited to) the Westmont Hilltop School District.
