Doris Jean Lazere Scholarship Fund

To provide an endowment which will create a scholarship in the amount of $200.00 to be distributed annually from the fund. This scholarship is for a graduating student from Portage High School who intends to pursue a career in nursing with priority given to a student from Cassandra Borough. Created as part of the 100 Families Project.

Dorothy Kunkle Charitable Fund

To support unrestricted grantmaking as determined by the Foundation’s Distribution Committee, through the Fund for the Future.

Dorothy Pekala Scholarship Fund

To provide a scholarship to a graduating senior from Richland High School who has been accepted to, and will be attending, St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. Eligible students must have at least a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship will be paid to the school upon receipt of the student’s freshman year transcript.

Doug Harnden Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide an annual scholarship in an amount of at least $500.00 to a graduating senior player from Somerset High School (preferably but not necessarily a varsity football player) who participated in the Little Eagle Football program. If there are no graduating seniors who played varsity football who are eligible, then seniors who participated in the Little Eagle Football Program or the Somerset Little League would be considered. It is the intention of the Donor that this scholarship remain in existence for ten (10) years, and scholarship amounts may be adjusted to reflect additional fundraising or contributions.

Doyle E. Paul Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for a graduating senior of a Somerset County School District pursuing post-secondary education in the field of agriculture, agribusiness or technical education related to the field of agriculture.

To support the operation and maintenance of Stackhouse Park.

Dr. Bert and Lucile Wiley Health Professions Scholarship Endowment Fund

To provide scholarships to Bedford County students who are interested in pursuing a career in the health care field and who intend to return to Bedford County upon graduation. Additionally, the fund supports other charitable efforts in Bedford County, including donations for equipment and program support to UPMC Bedford Memorial, scholarship support to the Allegany College of Maryland and Bedford County Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Dr. Brad Puckey Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for students who have graduated from a high school in Cambria or Somerset counties, have military experience, and are interested in furthering their education in an economics or business major. This scholarship is in honor of Dr. Brad Puckey who was a Richland H.S. graduate, a U.S. Army veteran and Intelligence Analyst who served overseas in Honduras, a graduate of IUP where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, and a graduate of The University of South Florida’s Doctor of Business Administration program. Dr. Puckey had more 30 years of experience in the field of Brand Management and Analytics.

Dr. Clyde E. Harriger Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarships in the amount of $500.00 per student, annually, for a senior boy and girl in the Richland High School graduating class. The students shall have demonstrated a strong academic aptitude in the collective sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Math and Physics) and have been matriculated at a college or university with an intended area of major in the sciences with a career goal of health sciences. The recipients, upon recommendation of a committee consisting of, at least, the head or chair of the science department and the guidance counselor will also demonstrate strong qualities of compassion and integrity. While academic excellence is a major consideration, financial need will be considered in case of multiple qualifying students.

Dr. Harry M. Rhoads Scholarship Fund

To benefit an under-funded, graduating senior at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown who will be attending an accredited medical school.

Dr. J.D. and Marianne Plummer and William Fennell Scholarship Fund

To provide a scholarship to a Ligonier Valley High School Senior who will be attending Seton Hill University. Students to be considered should exhibit good values, strong community service, and display a caring and compassionate nature. This fund was established by daughter, Nancy L. Heider in memory of her beloved parents. Created as part of the 100 Families Project.

Dr. James and Christine Richey Fund

To support the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra through the naming of a principal chair (cello/trombone).

Dr. James E. Jensen Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for graduating seniors at North Star High School who have participated in the forensics program. If there are no eligible seniors, the scholarship award will be held for that year and two awards will be made available in the next school year.

Dr. Max Goldstein Award Fund

To award a Senior from Portage Area High School who is voted by his or her peers to have done the most for that graduating class. This award, in the spirit of Dr. Max Goldstein, originally a Portage resident, reflects the love of the community for each other.

Dr. Rosemarie K. Tipton Scholarship Award Fund

To provide scholarship support for a graduating senior of the Shanksville-Stonycreek School District who shows perseverance and dedication, exhibits a strong work ethic, challenges their limits to perform beyond their abilities and lift their skills to new levels and demonstrates good moral character. The student must be accepted at an accredited post-secondary school.

Dr. Vito E. Mantini Scholarship Fund

To provide an endowment that will grant a $1,000.00 scholarship to a student graduating from Conemaugh Township Area High School and planning to enter a health or health related field, established in 2007 in memory of Dr. Vito E. Mantini.

Dylan’s Heart Fund

To provide support for children with serious health issues and their families. Established by Dennis Owens, in memory of his son, Dylan Owens. Created as part of the 100 Families Project.

Elbert and Lillie Mae Jones Scholarship Fund

To provide an endowment that will create an annual scholarship to be distributed to a Conemaugh Valley High School or Greater Johnstown High School Senior. The Greater Johnstown Minority Scholars Club will distribute the scholarship. In selecting a recipient of the scholarship, the criteria shall be an African American, average or better student, and attending an accredited post-secondary school.

Eleanor and Carlton Haselrig Family Scholarship Fund

Established by their children, to provide a scholarship to an outstanding senior member of the Greater Johnstown Minority Scholars Club pursuing a post-secondary education. Created as part of the 100 Families Project.

Elizabeth Lindsay Davis Club Scholarship Fund

To provide a scholarship of $500.00 to foster higher education and promote service through education in the sponsorship of an annual scholarship to an African American high school graduate from the Greater Johnstown community who is pursuing post-secondary education from an accredited institution and attending classes in a campus setting. The award will be granted during the student’s second year of school attendance.

Elizabeth Lubert Memorial Scholarship Fund

To provide scholarship support for a graduating senior at Northern Cambria High School who has been accepted to a two-or four-year post-secondary school to study music, music education, music therapy or any similar fine arts program.
