The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is embarking on an aggressive five-year comprehensive strategic plan. More than 100 people from Bedford, Cambria, Indiana, and Somerset counties provided feedback through surveys, focus groups, and personal interviews–all of which helped to frame the priorities of this plan. These participants included donors, community leaders, grantees, professional wealth advisers, and volunteers. We are very grateful to each of you who took the time to share your thoughts about the Community Foundation and how we might continue to be engaged and work to make our communities better for everyone.

One of the rewarding things about strategic planning is getting the opportunity to listen and be challenged to establish goals that will help meet the needs of our region. We want to grow and prosper for the benefit of everyone. With your input, we have created an ambitious plan. Those of you who expressed familiarity with the Community Foundation clearly called for this kind of ambition. For those of you who were not as familiar with us, we hope your recent experience and a quick read of our plan will be encouraging in terms of knowing our determination to grow a culture of philanthropy that will grow an abundance of resources to achieve a perpetual impact for our region.
