Community Foundation for the Alleghenies (CFA) has more than 350 scholarship awards available to students in Cambria, Somerset, Bedford, and Indiana counties—and beyond. The CFA’s application portal will help students apply for multiple scholarships, and the eligibility quiz helps match them to available scholarships. There are 90 scholarship awards that students can apply for through the portal. Students will be prompted to take the eligibility quiz when they log in or create an account here.

Additionally, there are more than 250 school-selected scholarships, selected by the school district’s committees, that students may apply for through their school. Students are encouraged to contact their school guidance counselors on the availability of scholarships specific to their school district.

Through our donors’ generosity, the Community Foundation is honored to help students of all types find scholarship opportunities to help them pursue education and build their careers,” CFA President Mike Kane said. “We are happy to be able to help students find scholarships that are the right fit for their background and their goals. It’s important to us and our donors that no scholarship dollars are left on the table, so our staff has worked hard to connect students with the financial assistance they need.”

Scholarships are available for students enrolled in or headed to a college, university, or trade school. Scholarships are also available to adult learners. The deadline to apply is March 8, 2024.

The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies is an approved PATH Partner through the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA).  Students who receive scholarships from approved PATH partners, such as the Community Foundation, and attend college in Pennsylvania, may be eligible to receive additional scholarship funds from the PATH program. As an approved PATH partner, CFA provides the necessary information to PHEAA for potential PATH match consideration.
