Veterans Remembered is a site to honor servicemembers while creating a lasting legacy of support for
veterans in need in west-central Pennsylvania.

World War II veteran James Porter Myers, Jr. From Altoona, James was a member of the 8 the Army Air Forces. He served as a tail gunner on B-17 and B- 24 aircraft, then as a bombardier in the Pacific Theater and in Europe. He served 68 missions over Europe, including the attack on Merseburg Synthetic Oil plants, where the B-17 returned with two engines out.
Every veteran’s service should be recognized and honored. To have a veteran featured on the site,
there is a one-time placement fee, which will help Veterans Remembered provide monetary support
to local nonprofit programming focused on improving the lives of vets and their families.
Your donations will support critically
needed programs for local veterans, like
food and shelter, career counseling,
mentoring, and scholarships.
