The Windber Rambler Lettermen’s Club will hold its 20th annual golf classic on Saturday\, June 13th at Northwinds Golf Course at Indian Lake. Thanks to the generosity of our participants from previous years\, ‎we have had the honor of providing life-changing opportunities to our student-athletes to enhance their ‎growth and development\, athletically\, academically and socially. \nAt the heart of the Windber Lettermen’s Club (WRLC) lies a profound commitment to fostering character\, leadership\, and excellence in the student-athletes of the Windber Area School District. Through a strategic set of objectives\, the WLC collaborates with the local community\, businesses\, and school district to cultivate well-rounded individuals who embody the spirit of “being a good teammate” both on and off the field. SUMMARY:Berlin Brothersvalley Foundation Golf Scramble
DESCRIPTION:The Berlin Brothersvalley School District Foundation is planning a Golf Scramble to be held at Northwinds Golf Course and the Peninsula Course on Saturday\, August 5\, 2023. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. Tee time is 9:00 a.m. Registration fee includes lunch and a cart. \nOur Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of education. The proceeds of the Golf Scramble benefit our students by way of financial resources for educational programs and scholarships for graduates. This past year students in grades k-12 participated in enrichment programs\, requested and facilitated by our teachers\, that were offered during the school day\, after school\, and in the summer. High school programs included virtual sheep brain and hands-on biology dissection\, a trip to the theater for 9th grade students\, and the publication of student books. Students in grades 2-8 enjoyed the after-school LEGO League and robotics competition. Middle school students participated in a Classroom Economy program. Foundation funds also support a well-attended summer MAKE Camp for elementary and middle school students that provides students with opportunities to develop engineering skills. Advanced Placement Test reimbursement for high school students was funded by the foundation. We are also helping to send 3 disadvantaged students to Camp Soles for a week this summer. Approximately $15\,067 was donated by the BBSD Foundation over the past year to provide these opportunities and experiences for students at Berlin Brothersvalley.
