SUMMARY:Vagina Monologues
DESCRIPTION:The Community Connection Team once again presents a production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” to celebrate V-Day 2020\, a global activist movement aimed at stopping violence against women and girls. This year’s show is directed by Rachel Allen and features over 20 local women actresses. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience\, touching on matters such as sex\, body image\, love\, rape\, menstruation\, and more. \nProceeds from the production will benefit the Trauma Sensitive Yoga program\, a collaboration of Yoga Song\, Victim Services Inc.\, BOTTLE WORKS Ethnic Arts Center\, and Women’s Help Center. The partners in this collaboration work together to create a safe and healing environment through the practices of trauma-informed yoga and the healing arts that allow survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence the potential to reclaim the body in the healing process\, therefore\, reclaiming one’s life. Doors open at 6 p.m.\, and the show starts at 7. CLICK HERE to purchase tickets. \nPlease note: Event is intended for adults 18 and over.
