Registration deadline is Friday\, September 22. \nTree Tenders® is a training program that empowers concerned residents to make dramatic strides towards restoring and caring for the tree canopy in their communities. \nThe course is designed for lay people and experts alike. Instruction is provided by DCNR’s Bureau of Forestry\, in partnership with Penn State Extension\, Pennsylvania Horticulture Society\, The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy\, and other local urban forestry experts. \nTraining Includes:\nTree Biology\nUrban Stresses on Trees\nTree Identification\nTree Pruning and Root Care\nTree Planting Techniques\nCommunity Organizing \nAttire:\nParticipants are asked to dress for the weather as there is one outdoor session during the day. \nCredit Information: \n\nAmerican Society of Landscape Architects\nEngineerining PDH\nISA Certified Arborist\nPennsylvania Certified Horticulturalist\nProfessional Landscape Architecture\nSociety of American Florists\nTree Tender Certificates will be awarded.\n\nThis Tree Tenders® Training fulfills the requirement for TreeVitalize Grants offered by DCNR. \n  \n
