SUMMARY:Big Idea Contest Final Presentations
DESCRIPTION:The ten finalists in Ben Franklin’s 2017 BIG IDEA Contest will be making their presentations to a panel of area judges beginning sharply at 1:35 PM on Thursday\, November 16\, 2017. Each presenter will get five minutes to make their pitch which will be followed by seven minutes of Q&A. \nIf you know any of the folks listed below\, or if you are just excited about the Startup Alleghenies initiative in general\, organizers would love to have you stop by the Bottle Works\, located at 411 West Third Ave in Johnstown\, to hear the presentations: \n\nJoseph DiGangi with AssureTech (Huntingdon County)\nJustin Capouellez with Boomerang Beacon (Cambria County)\nHeather Moyer with Crossroads Consulting (Cambria County)\nMark Kasterko with MT Arms (Somerset County)\nAdam Stokes with muonSoft (Blair County)\nDonald Nixon with Nixon’s Technical Service (Clearfield County)\nHunter Swisher with Phospholutions (Centre County)\nRyan Kieta with Real Design (Cambria County)\nJames Wang with SimplrTechnologies (Centre County)\nAnthony Biddle with Siterite (Blair County)\n\nAt the conclusion of the presentations\, while the judges deliberate\, you are invited to participate in networking with the finalists\, learning more about them in preparation for casting your vote for the People’s Choice award\, polling for which will close at 6:15 PM. SUMMARY:Field to Fork Informational Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Field to Fork Agricultural Incubator Workshop for Food Entrepreneurs\n\nSAP&DC\n\n\nSouthern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission (SAP&DC) and the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center (GJCTC) will be holding an informational workshop for the Field to Fork Agricultural Incubator on November 8th\, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.The workshop will be held at GJCTC and will educate interested parties about the benefits of the shared-use kitchen and the processes required to utilize the space. \nThe Agricultural Incubator provides an opportunity for value-added producers to create their products in a shared-use facility with access to a variety of kitchen equipment and ample storage space. The workshop will assist potential users in the processes required to use the kitchen\, including a review of the paperwork required by the Department of Agriculture. Business ideas\, comparative cost analyses\, and other useful information will also be covered at the workshop.
