To provide scholarship support for Ligonier Valley High School seniors who either have made a commitment to serve in the military or have a family member who is serving or has honorably served in the military. This award was created to honor Sgt. Carey, a Ligonier graduate and Medal of Honor winner who was killed in action during World War II.
