SUMMARY:Heidi and Tom Allison Memorial Golf Outing
DESCRIPTION:Heidi demonstrated dedication to her students’ success in all aspects of their lives–academically\, professionally\, and personally. Her students learned so much more than just how to be an effective healthcare professional. They learned the soft skills and character traits so desperately needed in today’s society–compassion\, kindness\, genuine empathy\, and above all love. They applied their skills daily and with each challenge\, quickly learned that focusing on “solutions” was ALWAYS more effective than dwelling on the “problems”. They stood by their beloved teacher until the end–reciprocating the very love and support that their beloved Mrs. Allison demonstrated to them daily. \nHeidi’s unique character defined her. She was the epitome of kindness and empathy. Her genuine love for humankind was demonstrated by her inherent desire to always put others first. The Heidi Allison Character Award celebrates the impact of Heidi’s life by recognizing students who demonstrate these traits daily–and who\, in turn\, are helping to make the world a better place – one act of kindness at a time. \nJoin us for a foursome scramble golf tournament including lunch and drinks followed by an evening bonfire and band. Sponsorship opportunities are available! Register here: 2024 Registration  Foursome is $320.00.

SUMMARY:Somerset County Shop With a Cop
DESCRIPTION:The Somerset County Shop with a Cop program provides children the opportunity to go shopping with a police officer from their area — children who were the victim of crime\, witnessed or experienced trauma\, or have dealt with other unfortunate circumstances. This helps create friendship and support for these children so that they know they can trust and depend on officers when they are in need. \n“We don’t want that tragedy to be the child’s enduring memory of law enforcement. Shop with a Cop helps build a lasting positive relationship between children and law enforcement by giving them a positive experience with us\,” says Trooper Branden Snyder. \n \nChildren are recommended and chosen by local police departments and the Pennsylvania State Police. Each child will have $150 to spend while they are shopping. \nWhen you sponsor a child with a $150 donation\, you will recieve an “I Sponsored a Child” yard sign. These fun\, colorfully designed signs show your friends and neighbors that you care about kids in need.

SUMMARY:Thank a Farmer Dash
DESCRIPTION:Thank your local farmers by participating in the second annual Thank a Farmer Dash\, 5k\, 10k\, and Family Fun Walk!!! \nNovember is a time for giving thanks for all of the things in our lives. The bountiful feast that we will all enjoy on Thanksgiving is the result of the hard work of farmers. Locally grown food looks and tastes better\, is better for you\, preserves genetic diversity\, is safe\, supports local families\, builds a strong community\, preserves open space\, reduces taxes\, and invests in our future! Unfortunately\, despite all of these great benefits\, small farms are disappearing at an alarming rate! It is up to us to change this! \nTo support our small farmers in Cambria and Indiana counties\, we’ve set up a fund at the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies. The purpose of the fund is to provide small grants to support business plan development that focuses on sustainable (profitable) farming models\, including providing match funding for sustainable farming projects and the development of conservation best management practices. \nAll proceeds from this race are deposited in this fund for future grant-making and support for our local small farmers. Join us for a great event while supporting a vital cause! Because of you\, in 2023\, we were able to award our FIRST two grants of $1\,500 each to the Mytrysak Family Tree Farm and Mother Earth Farm to support different components of their individual business plan models. \n \nRACE INFORMATION \nPre-registration by November 1st\, 2023.\n$25 for 5K Family Fun Walk\n$25 for 5k\n$35 for 10k\n$15 Kids Ages 3-12 years (all races)\nKids under 3 are free but will not receive race medals or T-shirts \nDay of Details\n*8:00 am: Check-in/Registration starts\n9:00 am: Race Begins \nSame Day Registration:\n5K and 5K Family Fun Walk $30.00 per person\n10K: $40 per person\nKids Ages 3-12: $20 for all races\nKids under 3 are free\, but will not receive race medals or T-shirts\n(T-shirt not guaranteed) \nPrizes will be given to 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd male and female overall for both Runners and Walkers in the 5k and Runners in the 10k. \nRegister today! \nSPONSORSHIP INFORMATION \nPresenting Sponsor – $1000 – includes 4 complimentary race registrations (5k\, 5k walk\, or 10k) – Large Logo on Event T-Shirt\, Large Logo on event banner; Full Page (8X10″) ad space included in registrant’s packet\, option to provide organizational promotional materials in race packets; recognition on Facebook.\nGold Sponsor – $500 – includes 2 complimentary race registrations (5k\, 5k walk\, or 10k) – Medium logo on event t-shirt\, Medium logo on event banner; half page (8×5″) ad space included in registrant’s packet; recognition on Facebook\nSilver Sponsor – $250 – includes 1 complimentary race registration (5k\, 5k walk\, or 10k) – small logo on event T-shirt; quarter page (4×2.5″) ad space included in registrant’s packet; recognition on Facebook\nBronze Sponsor – $100 – name on event t-shirt\, name recognition in registrant’s packet\, recognition on Facebook\nFriend Sponsor – $50 – name recognition in registrant’s packet\, recognition on Facebook
