DESCRIPTION:You won’t want to miss the 2024 Old Westmont Holiday Home Tour. This year’s tour features five historic homes decorated for the season\, including several that have never been on display before. You’ll see Tudor-style\, Colonial\, and even a home that is reminiscent of a French Chateau. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the timeless character and craftsmanship of these beautiful homes\, meet homeowners\, and see unique decorations and vintage architectural details. You’ll also be able to stop by SEADS Garden Center\, a nonprofit job training program for people with barriers to employment. SEADS will offer wreathes\, garland\, and other holiday items. \nThe event takes place on Sunday\, December 8th from 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are available through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies for $35. The featured homes are within walking distance on Luzerne and Wayne streets and Diamond Boulevard. Participants must pre-purchase tickets and check in at Studio U\, 828 Luzerne Street. DESCRIPTION:Operation:BeYoutiful is a charitable organization that provides wigs and specialized programming to girls and women that are battling medically related hair loss in Cambria\, Somerset and surrounding counties. \nThis year’s gala is “A Night with Fitzgerald” a Great Gatsby themed event and it promises to be an evening filled with inspiration\, entertainment\, and meaningful connections. Between both events\, our goal is to raise $75\,000 this year which will go directly towards providing a high-quality wig and an amazing experience and programming for our recipients. In addition to the wig\, we provide gift certificates for both a wig cleaning and two spa treatments. We also offer monthly meetups\, meals\, house cleaning and counseling services as a part of our overall wellness package. I am so proud to say that all our relationships are with locally owned businesses and all monies raised stay in our local community\, so you know you are making an impact where you live and work. \nSince we provide all services at no cost to the recipient\, we are dependent on fundraising\, grant funding as well as the generosity of businesses\, local organizations\, and individuals. \n

We listened and learned from the feedback received last year and are VERY excited to announce our improved third annual Worth the Weight Race set to take place Saturday\, August 10th in Old Westmont. \nOur first improvement is our race times: Worth the Weight Kids! will start at 8 AM with our adult races (5K run/walk and 10K) will start at 8:30 AM. \nLocation is the same: 827 Diamond Blvd. Johnstown\, PA 15905 \nAll routes will feature the quaint and scenic neighborhood of Westmont.
