SUMMARY:Capitol Steps
DESCRIPTION:Over 30 years ago\, the Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to  satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed\, many  of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom (“Don’t quit your day job!”)\, and although  not all of the current members of the Steps are former Capitol Hill staffers\, taken together  the performers have worked in a total of eighteen Congressional offices and represent 62  years of collective House and Senate staff experience.  No matter who or what is in the headlines\, you can bet the Capitol Steps will tackle both  sides of the political spectrum and all things equally foolish. What more would you  expect from the group that puts the “MOCK” in Democracy?! \n  \nPasquerilla Performing Arts Center \nMay 6\, 2016 @ 7:30 p.m. \n(814) 269-7200 or 1-800-846-2787 \nwww.upjarts.org

DESCRIPTION:The Johnstown Symphony Orchestra has an amazing community orchestra that is open to adult players of all levels.  They will be performing their fall concert on November 19\, 2015 at 7:30 pm at St. David’s Lutheran Church\, 401 N. Main Street in Davidsville. \nThe Community Strings is a group of adult students of string instruments\, violin\, viola\, cello and bass under the direction of Elizabeth Pile.  Begun in the spring of 2009\, these players expressed interest in playing in a group similar to community bands in the area.  Since then\, the group\, which still includes many original members\, has grown not only in numbers but also in quality.
