Members of the Chatham Choir have had the opportunity to perform with Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Symphony Pop’s All-Star College Chorus at Heinz Hall. The Chatham Choir\, directed by Stacey Brett Conner\, has traveled locally\, as well as to locations such as New York City\, Baltimore\, Washington DC\, and West Virginia. DESCRIPTION:The Community Connection Team once again presents a production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” to celebrate V-Day 2020\, a global activist movement aimed at stopping violence against women and girls. This year’s show is directed by Rachel Allen and features over 20 local women actresses. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience\, touching on matters such as sex\, body image\, love\, rape\, menstruation\, and more. \nProceeds from the production will benefit the Trauma Sensitive Yoga program\, a collaboration of Yoga Song\, Victim Services Inc.\, BOTTLE WORKS Ethnic Arts Center\, and Women’s Help Center. The partners in this collaboration work together to create a safe and healing environment through the practices of trauma-informed yoga and the healing arts that allow survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence the potential to reclaim the body in the healing process\, therefore\, reclaiming one’s life. Each tour will be approximately 90 minutes in length and will include tours of original Pattern Shop\, which houses the CMA classroom and production studio\, the historic Cambria Blacksmith Shop and a working demonstration of the Chambersburg hammer. \nTours will be offered on Sat.\, Oct. 19 and Sun.\, Oct. 20 at 9:00 am\, 11:00 am\, and 2:00 pm. Henry Wong Doe studied at the University of Auckland\, New Zealand and Indiana University Bloomington before earning a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The Juilliard School in New York. His teachers have included Evelyne Brancart\, Leonard Hokanson and Joseph Kalichstein. Henry is currently Professor of Piano and Keyboard Area Chair at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. \nTickets are $10 for seniors\, $5 for students\, $15 for adults\, and $25 for couples.
