Discover: Learn About Us
Community People, Community Foundation
Welcome to our new website. In the section you are now reading we will be posting updates on our donors and activities of our grantees. We will also be posting information about various projects with which the Community Foundation is involved through our region. Please check back occasionally or connect to us through our Facebook page.
We encourage your input. After all, the Community Foundation is here to serve.
The way community foundations across the nation have grown over the recent years, with ours being right there among them, is a testament to taking a good idea and making it take hold.
The good idea is that people of all income levels—of differing backgrounds, of varying community interests—can in their own ways further what they care about through a common, local vehicle. This vehicle can ensure their good efforts move forward, and in many cases can be leveraged with other donors to advance their efforts even more.
What makes this good idea work is the people who have come to understand and believe in it. We think of our donors first, of course. But don’t forget, to make this work, donors need strong nonprofits and impactful community initiatives on which to focus their interests. There also needs to be volunteer leaders in the form of Foundation board and committee members who set the vision and goals under which the staff operate, and even more volunteer leaders who work on bettering our community.
Community People, Community Foundation.
Thank you for being a part of it.
