Bedford County Endowments Information

“The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies and the Bedford County Endowments is evolving as a respected and trusted repository for funds destined to remain in our region to foster a better living within our communities. It promotes philanthropic endeavors that enhance our current and future standards of living. More importantly, it seeks out the interests and wishes of our residents that will impact lives forever.” John Blackburn, Advisory Committee, Bedford County Endowments and Community Foundation for the Alleghenies Board of Directors

From Kay Reynolds, Bedford County Endowments Director:  “I am so honored to report our ongoing success at the Bedford County Endowments. This is a very exciting time for us, welcoming new funds and new projects. We participated in the Abe Beerman Holocaust Trip for high school students for the first time. Bedford High School was the recipient.

“The Endowments celebrated our fifth anniversary this summer with a Founders’ Day picnic at Tenley Park in Everett. We honored Bob Sweet as our founding father. State Senator John Eichelberger presented him with a citation from the Pennsylvania Senate for his community service. Seeing old friends and hearing tributes prompted Bob to share a little of his philosophy with us, saying “Bedford County Endowments gives everyone an opportunity to accumulate money to give to their favorite charities. Giving is very gratifying and helps so many needy causes locally and around the world.

“I would like to thank the good citizens of all Bedford communities that support our efforts here, and especially the Advisory Committee for their dedication to our foundation.”
